NO WORTH OF MAN: The Killing Streets

Brutal Records on Feb. 13 - CD, LP, Digital
NO WORTH OF MAN formed in 2016 in the UK. After a series of EPs and singles, they now deliver their full-length debut.
With a mix of metalcore, thrash, and groove metal, this trio delivers pure aggression and unmatched technical precision. You can expect crushing grooves, thunderous riffs, and raw vocals. Their sound is modern, but people who are into metal from the 90s will probably like this, as there's lots of that here too. The music is hard and heavy, but also energetic.
This is not so bad at all. You should give it a try.

SIX FEET UNDER: Bringer Of Blood (reissue)

Brutal Planet Records on Feb. 15 - LP
This album was originally unleashed in 2003, and was recorded at the legendary Morrisound Studios. The only time it has been available on vinyl was 20 years ago in Germany, so this is the first U.S. release of the album on vinyl.
SIX FEET UNDER play a heavy kind of death metal, which gives their songs some extra power. They definitely have thier own unique sound, and I don't really know what I should compare them with. Some songs are better than others, but it's never really bad anyway. The best way to find out what this really sounds like, is simply to listen for yourself.

SIX FEET UNDER: Unburied

Brutal Planet Records - CD out now, LP on Feb. 15
This album consist of 9 previously unreleased tracks from the "Undead, Unborn, And Torment" sessions. But o.k., previously unreleased is not entirely true, as it was previously available only as a flimsy, low-quality cardboard-sleeve promo that barely surfaced in the collector world, and has long been considered nearly impossible to obtain. And it also appeared briefly on vinyl in Italy as a magazine kiosk bonus - It sold out instantly, was never placed into retail distribution, and is now almost impossible to locate. It was also released digitally in 2018, but a physical copy has been hard to find, until now.
I would say that the material on this album is more brutal than on "Bringer Of Blood". The heaviness and the unique sound is still there though. I like this album more than "Bringer Of Blood" actually. So if you have not heard them before, then I would recomend that you begin with this record.

SLAUGHTERDAY: Dread Emperor

Testimony Records on Feb. 13 - CD, LP, MC, Digital
This is the 6th album from SLAUGHTERDAY, which is a old school death metal band, formed in the East Frisian city of Leer, Germany in 2010.
This album is varied, with crushing doom-ridden ultra-heavy parts to calculated outbreaks of utter brutality. It simply offers everything an old death metaller could ask for. Think of the raw and morbid spirit of old school giants such as AUTOPSY, DEATH, and MASSACRE for example. Crushing riffs and brutality is the key words for this duo. And I'm very sure that you will be very pleased when you listen to this, because there's nothing at all to complain about when it comes to this band's music. In other words an extremely strong album.

LEATHERHEAD: Violent Horror Stories

No Remorse Records on Feb. 13 - CD, LP
"Violent Horror Stories" is the second album with this Greek speed metal band, who formed in 2022, and released their self-titled debut album in 2024. This time it's said to be a darker and more aggressive approach than its predecessor. There's no doubt that there's lots of energy anyway. And it sounds a lot like something from the golden era, the 80s, which should tell you exactly what they sound like. You just have to check this out, because this is extremely good!
Not such a long review you might say. But on the other hand, who wants to read a lot of poetic bullshit? Not me anyway..

GREYHAWK: Warriors Of Greyhawk

Cruz Del Sur Music on Feb. 13 - CD, LP, Digital
"Warriors Of Greyhawk" is the third album from GREYHAWK, where epic, melodic power/heavy metal is fused with an anthemic AOR angle. Shredding guitars, soaring vocals, powerful rhythms and great songs are some of the ingredients that makes this a majestic album. The sound is pretty traditional, so fans of the old school should definitely check this out.
They have succeed to make an album that sounds professional and ambiious, but without being too much. There's no symphonic elements, and the songs are mainly straight and headbang friendly. If this would have been released in the 80s, it's not impossible that it could have been a classic today.

TENTACLAUS: Daily Grind

Tentaclaus - Digital EP
So, here we have the second EP of the 2 that they released in late 2025.
This Northern Virginia band is said to play punk, but it's a different kind of punk then, and with influences of alternative rock and metal. They also blend in some humor and attitude to get their own special sound. 5 pretty short (1:10-1:34 minutes) tracks is what we get here, and it mainly sounds good, even if they don't exactly have any anthem. It could still be worth a try though.
The other EP, "Calamari", was reviewed last month - Read.

SKÜLL: Who Killed The Rooster

King2Music - Digital Single
This project was born when former award-gala promotor Lars Jahnson (MTV in Europe, ZTV in Sweden) returned to music with stumbling steps in 2022 during the aftermath of the pandemic. And this song is a heavier remake of a original song by SK&UumL;LL, that was inspired by the ALICE IN CHAINS song "Rooster". The song also introduces new vocalist Anton Darusso (WINGS OF DESTINY), and features David Shankle (MANOWAR) on lead guitar. Among the other musicians are Ian Haugland (EUROPE) and Fredric Johansson (FAITHFUL GRACE).
This is a pretty good song in the heavier league, and it sounds like the alternative rock from the 90s. You should really check it out if you like that kind of stuff, and I don't have much else to say.

ELECTRIC HYDRA: From The Fallen

Majestic Mountain Records on Feb. 13 - LP, Digital

I saw this band live here in Borås, Sweden (where I happens to live) almost 7 years ago. They were really good, but I don't think I have heard anything with them since then. After listening to their latest album, "From The Fallen", I can tell you that they are still a very hot band.
After years of silence, setbacks, and lineup changes, they will now release a new album. Expect punk attitude, crushing low-end grooves, towering twin guitars, and hooks built for sweaty stages and blown speakers. Think classic heavy rock on highest volume and with some extra bite. We can call it something like hot high voltage heavy hard rock. The songs get some extra fuel from chunky guitar riffs, an explosive energy, catchy vocal hooks, and a love for retro hard rock. It's sharp and heavy, but also very focused.
They have simply made a very strong album, and you just have to check it out.
The album features guest appearances from Per Wiberg (OPETH, SPIRITUAL BEGGARS) and Mateo von Bewitcher (BEWITCHER).

FORCEFED HORSEHEAD/SHAVING THE WEREWOLF: From Horrid To Worse

Forcefed Horsehead/Shaving the Werewolf on Feb. 13 - Digital Album (physical later)
2 Norwegian bands have joined forces for a split EP, where grind punk meets mathcore in a violent storm.
FORCEFED HORSEHEAD attack with some violent hardcore/punk chaos. They have been playing for over a decade already, and call their music Norwegian grindpunk, which is an explosive mix of death metal, punk, hardcore, black metal, post-rock, prog, mania, and total hysteria. That might sound crazy, but the result is good old hardcore/punk, or crust punk as some call it. Good stuff.
SHAVING THE WEREWOLF mix power violence, noise rock, nu-metal and mathcore, and have spent years refining their sound. In the end it sounds like something alternative of course. This is not easy to describe actually, but it's aggressive and brutal anyway. I would guess that both hardcore/punks and fans of a band like VOIVOD could like this. They have definitely their own unique sound anyway.

JOYCE MANOR: I Used To Go To This Bar

Environ - Digital Single
JOYCE MANOR shares the title track from their new album, which is out now through Epitaph Records. It's a catchy and melodic indie rock/pop punk song that can easily make you want to dance (if you're into that). It can also makes you feel good for the 2 minutes that it last, so it's very easy to like if you like happy music. Simply a good song.
JOYCE MANOR is a trio from Torrance, CA. The new album seems to be their 7th.

KËKHT ARÄKH: Three Winters Away

Sacred Bones - Digital Single
This is a solo project started in Mykolaiv, Ukraine by Dmitry in 2014. He's nowadays based in Berlin, Germany. The new album, "Morning Star", will be released on March 27. And what we have here is the first single from that album.
The music is aggressive 90s black metal mixed with atmospheric landscapes and a lo-fi production they say. This song is not so aggressive though, but a little softer (in lack of a better description) and mid-tempo, yet a black metal song without a doubt. Pretty o.k., but not much else.
KËKHT ARÄKH has previously released a EP and 2 albums.

The LIPTONES and REGGAEMENTET at Wiser's

Concert at Wiser's in Borås, Sweden on Feb. 7, 2026
Like it wasn't enough with 5 punk bands, I went straight to another show.
REGGAEMENTET is a new band from Borås, with members from some other bands, and this was their first gig. They was supposed to play reggae, and sure, the first song was a slow reggae song. But the rest was more like if the singer's other band LILLA KROGEN BAND would add some reggae elements to their songs. I would not call it pure reggae anyway. Maybe not the best band either, but now I have just heard them once.

The LIPTONES was much better, and they did a very good show. It's a ska band from Sweden who sing mainly in English, but a few songs was in Swedish. It's over 10 years since I saw them last time, so it was really nice to see them again. I can really recomend you to check them out if you like ska music.

SKARABÉ, PIPISTRELLA, PÄRLOR OCH SVINN, KARDBORREBANDET and VÄNSTERNÄVEN at Kulturföreningen Tåget

Concert at Kulturföreningen Tåget in Borås, Sweden on Feb. 7, 2026
This will be very short (as usual).
Several Swedish punk bands played this day. All ages and free entrance. A woman came all the way from Germany for this.
First band was SKARABÉ, who play a mix of ska and melodic punk rock. Very good and nothing to complain about. Pretty much people even if they started at 2 o' clock in the afternoon (far away from full house though).

Next band was PIPISTRELLA, and they played a more catchy and melodic kind of punk rock/power pop. Absolutely not bad at all. They did a really good gig.

After that PÄRLOR OCH SVINN entered the stage. This is a band that I had not heard before. Pretty odd with accordion in a punk band, but as you hardly could hear it, it didn't disturb my ears. They played a pretty straight punk and it was o.k.

After that they did a weird thing, as they closed for a couple of hours. On the other hand it was time to eat, so I went to a restaurant.
When they opened again, KARDBORREBANDET, or KBB as they want to call themselves nowadays, began to play. Suddenly there was more people then earlier. For some reason they were not as good as I expected, but hardly bad anyway. I would describe their music as schlager punk , or catchy and melodic punk rock.

And last out was VÄNSTERNÄVEN. They play a very catchy sing-along punk, and they was very good, just as I expected. Seems like they have changed the lineup a little since last time I saw them, which was over 10 years ago.

After that they did another weird thing, as they actually asked us to leave as quick as possible, haha.

Gabrielle de Val: Time To Die

Pride & Joy Music on Feb. 6 - MCD, Digital EP
This EP seems to be a tribute to the classic 1982 movie "Blade Runner". The first track, which is the title track, is at least a tribute to that movie.
German/Spanish artist Gabrielle de Val gives us 4 tracks of modern AOR/melodic rock. It seems to be some leftovers from the recordings of the latest album, "I Am The Hammer". But we also get the original version of "Hold On", a duet with SEVEN's Mick Devine, and totally re-arranged by BOSTON's Gary Pihl.
This is very good stuff and a very strong material, so I can't see why you should not check this out. And although I call it modern, there's also some classic 80s in these songs, so don't be afraid of that.
They say that there's at least 2 albums coming out this year, so we will sooner or later hear more from Gabrielle. And who can say no to that?

Lily Löwe: Beautiful Disaster

Löwe on Feb. 6 - Digital Album?
Lily Löwe is a woman from Norway, and she play a modern kind of melodic hard rock. The other members of her band are Adrian Sunde Bjerketvedt (JORN), Patrik Svendsen (TONIC BREED), Stian Hansen (SUICIDE BOMBERS), and Eiliv Sagrusten (INVASION).
On this sophomore album she explores the tension between vulnerability and power, both lyrically and musically. The album moves between raw emotion and high energy, blending modern production with the heart of classic hard rock. It's a diverse album, where we get everything from modern pop/rock to some harder and more energetic stuff. Which means that there's both good and less good tracks. But in general a pretty o.k. album anyway.

Jack Harlon & The DEAD CROWS: Inexorable Opposites

Magnetic Eye Records on Feb. 6 - LP, CD, Digital
"Inexorable Opposites" is the 4th album from these Australian psychedelic western rockers. And with this album they introduce new drummer Brayden Becher.
This band's music is a mix of psychedelic, stoner, fuzz and western rock. The songs are really heavy, but also creative, which makes it an adventure to listen to. Because this album is also very varied, so you should not get bored while you listen to this. This is not the kind of band who repeat themselves over and over again, but always seems to find a new way to go. And that's what makes them an interesting band.

FULL HOUSE BREW CREW: Glasgow Grin

ROAR on Feb. 6 - CD, Digital
This is shit heavy thanks to downtuned guitars, yet very energetic as well. Simply groove metal as we all know it, but possibly with a pinch of heavy metal. They call it "American heavy groove metal".
The band is led by frontman and guitarist Vageliss Karzis (WOLFHEART, ex-ROTTING CHRIST). On this album they gives us 10 tracks of pure aggression and power. And if you like it hard and heavy with aggressive vocals, then this could be something for you. But sure, they also have their melodic moments here and there, but they are few. Not so bad anyway..

INDUCTION: Love Kills!

Reigning Phoenix Music on Feb. 6 - LP, CD, Digital
INDUCTION is one of the names in the new wave of power metal. The group is led by Tim Hansen, son of Kai Hansen (HELLOWEEN, GAMMA RAY). They has already released a couple of albums, and after some lineup changes the band was complete again in 2024 and ready to record a new album, "Love Kills!".
This is a majestic power metal album, with elements of both symphonic and progressive metal. They take everything up a few levels, and deliver many anthems and a really strong album, where the old school meets the new school in perfect harmony. You just have to give this a try if you like melodic high quality power metal.

IN AETERNUM: ...Of Death And Fire

Soulseller Records on Feb. 6 - CD, LP, Digital
Swedish black/death metallers IN AETERNUM formed in the early 90s, and produced 4 full-length albums and several EPs before going into hibernation for an indefinite time. But now the band has been resurrected with the same lineup as 20 years ago, and a new album is ready to be released.
This is the soundtrack to death, darkness and fire, with a pinch of blood. It's raw and brutal, but without going ultra fast. That doesn't mean that it's slow though (although they have some heavy tracks too), because most of these songs are full of energy and violence. They have a very good sound and production, but also a very strong material. Could absolutely be worth a try if you're into hard stuff.
soulsellerrecords.com | facebook.com/inaeternumofficial

CYCLONE: Known Unto God

High Roller Records on Feb. 6 - MCD, MLP, Digital
Well, this sounds very familiar, so they are hardly doing anything new. But as it's thrash metal in the old school tradition, it's damn good anyway.
The roots of this Belgian band go all the way back to 1981 actually, when they were formed under the name CENTURION. Some demos were recorded, and they got harder and harder. They signed with Roadrunner Records, and released their debut album, "Brutal Destruction", in 1986. It was followed by "Inferor To None" on Justice Records in 1990. But after that the band disbanded.
CYCLONE decided to reform in 2018, and have appeared live regularly since then. Now they have signed with High Roller Records, who will release this comeback mini-album.
They play a very energetic kind of thrash without any modern influences at all. It sounds like something that they could have made back in the 80s actually. So if you like that, then this is a must to check out.

BITTERNESS: Hallowed Be The Game

G.U.C. on Feb. 6 - CD, LP, MC, Digital
BITTERNESS hailing from southern Germany and formed in 2001. They play old school thrash metal, which they sometimes combine with gloomy death metal parts or Gothenburg style melodic death metal. And for the first time in the band's history there are also guest musicians featured on this new album - Andreas "Gerre" Geremia (TANKARD) contributed the vocals for "High Sobriety", and Michael Goldschmidt played the guitar solos on "High Sobriety" and "Win-Windustry".
The sound of this trio is hard and heavy without any compromises. Fans of the old school should be really happy to hear this, because it's absolutely not bad at all. This is actually a fantastic album with all the right ingredients, so you just have to check it out. And there's not much else to say about that..
They end the album with a cover of "Scream" by American horror punks MISFITS.

PAGANIZER: As Mankind Rots

Xtreem Music on Feb. 5 - CD, LP, MC, Digital

Swedish death metallers PAGANIZER continue to deliver after 27 years. "As Mankind Rots" is their 14th studio album, and they has also released several EPs, split releases, live albums and compilations through the years.
There's no intro or samples here, just pure old school death metal the way it was meant to be. This is a riff feast without any dead moments. It's explosive and powerful, and everything is done the right way according to me. So this is something that I see as a must for every fan of classic death metal.
A nice surprise is the last track, "Vanans Makt". And not just because it's in Swedish while the rest is in English, but beacuse it's so different and also features female guest vocals from Bulten of Swedish trallpunk legends LASTKAJ 14. The song has previously appeared on the "Compiled Ammunition" compilation back in 2020.

ILLUMINA A.D.: Days Of Blood & Fire

Illumina A.D. - Digital Album
With a fusion of modern metal and melodic death metal, ILLUMINA A.D. promises to redefine the heavy metal genre. But do they really succeed with that?
This is good, no doubt about that. They are combining ingredients like crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and mainly clean vocals. They are also trying to give us a cinematic and adventurous experience, and it all sounds very professional. But the songs are possibly a little too long for its own good, as most of them are between approximately 6 to 8 minutes. So you should be ready for an adventure if you want to give this a try, because sometimes it's more or less progressive actually. I would also say that there's much heavy metal in these songs. So even if you might not listen to melodic death metal, it could be worth a try anyway.

BEYOND THE PALE: Monument In Time (reissue)

Black Metal Archives - 12" EP, MCD, MC, Digital
In 2022, founding member Jeroen van Donselaar collapsed on stage struck down by a fatal cardiac arrest. But with new strength BEYOND THE PALE recruited former MARTYR guitarist Geoffrey Maas, and set about honouring the memory of their fallen comrade. Their debut EP, "Monument In Time", was released independently in The Netherlands (where the band comes from) in 2024, featuring an array of Jeroen's accomplished guitar riffs. Now it has been re-released on cassette with 2 bonus tracks by British label Black Metal Archives, but it's also available in other formats from the band.
The music is a blend of thrash and melodic death metal. It sounds very good and professional, so this can definitely be worth a try if you like melodic death metal. And it's not just the Gothenburg sound that we can hear here, but much more than just that. It's hard and heavy, as well as aggressive. But there's also faster parts and melodic elements.
The 2 bonus tracks are actually just other versions of 2 of the songs on the EP - the original 2021 recording of the band's first single, "Storm en Drift" and "Facts And Figures" remixed by Japanese artist Frost (GODS OF DECAY, GODFROST).

BANISHER: Metamorphosis

Selfmadegod Records - CD
BANISHER is a progressive death metal band from Poland, and they have been around for 20 years now. This new album is said to be their most mature and diverse work to date. 6 different guitar tunings were used, including 1 guitar tuned like a violin. Additionally, guitarist Hubert crafted ambient, unconventional solos for death metal, filled with ghostly, unsettling tones that deepen the album's haunting, otherworldly atmosphere and add another layer to its intense, reflective journey.
Their sound is modern, technical and groovy. But also really intense, almost chaotic, and with aggressive screaming. This is obviously something for those who like it extreme, because I think this can easily be a little too much if you're not used to it. They are probably doing a good job here, but to me it's more or less like a wall of sound.
A brutal assault on all your senses, you could say.

MORS VERUM: Canvas

Transcending Obscurity Records on Feb. 6 - LP, CD, Digital
The Canadian band MORS VERUM is said to be a forward-thinking group that gives their own interpretation to the death metal style, creating music that is simultaneously dissonant, progressive, and atmospheric. So I guess it's not so hard to figure out that this is not a band for everyone, and that it sounds a little special. Advanced playing is mixed with growl vocals, and it might sound chaotic here and there, but it's not. Unfortunately it's not that good. Probably because they go their own way, and doesn't seems to care about "normal" song structures. This is far away from catchy verses and a chorus to sing along to. This is dark brutality.

WITHERING SURFACE: Unique (re-release)

Mighty Music on Feb. 6 - Digital EP
This is a digital re-release of a demo from 1995, where we get the chance to hear a young and hungry band in its rawest form. And they show us already here how diverse they can be, by inculding various musical directions and inspirations, trying to find their own music style.
The band was born in Naestved, Denmark in 1994 when fanzine maker Michael H. Andersen became inspired by the Swedish melodic death metal bands. There were no other bands like that in Denmark at the time, so WITHERING SURFACE became the first Danish melodic death metal band. At the age of 14-21 they entered the studio in 1995 to record these 4 tracks, which was released as "Promo Tape". They sold close to 2000 copies all over the world.
After that they released 4 albums and toured around the world until 2005, when they took a break for 15 years. But in 2020 they were back again, and they has released a couple of more albums since then.
Well, this is a raw old school recording, but it's absolutely not bad at all. You should really check this out.

HEIR CORPSE ONE: Destination: Domination

Emanzipation Productions on Feb. 6 - CD, Digital
HEIR CORPSE ONE is a death metal band led by Rogga Johansson (PAGANIZER, MASSACRE, REVOLTING, RIBSPREADER and many, many more) and Peter Svensson (CALES, ASSASSIN'S BLADE, VOID MOON). The lineup is completed by lead guitarist Kjetil Lynghaug (MORDENIAL, VREDESBLOD, PAGANIZER) and drummer Marcus Rosenkvist (ASSASSIN'S BLADE, TO DESCEND, ANCHORITE). Their sound is rooted firmly in the iconic Sunlight Studio sound, so don't expect anything else than classic old school death metal from this band.
The band's debut album presented a full-fledged concept story about wealthy passengers fleeing the pandemic in a private jet, only to crash, descend into cannibalism and trigger a zombie outbreak. And with "Destination: Domination", HEIR CORPSE ONE now expand their apocalyptic saga into its most devastating form. This album is said to be their most ambitious chapter yet.
This sounds really good anyway, there's no doubt in the whole wide world about that. You have to check this out!

MOUNT PALATINE: Wormholy World

Octopus Rising on Feb. 6 - CD, Digital
"Wormholy World" is the second full-length album from this Finnish heavy psych metal trio. The album delivers a powerful mix of crushing riffs, hypnotic grooves and cosmic atmospheres. They blend doom heaviness and stoner grit with psychedelic textures and progressive dynamics. You can hear that these songs was born from jam sessions, but with the addition of vocals it becomes so much more than that.
These 6 tracks are pretty long, from approximately 6 to 10 and a half minutes, but it sounds good, so that's not a problem in this case. If you like it heavy and psychedelic, then you should not miss this album.

WICKED SMILE: When Night Falls

Disk Union in Japan - Out now / No Dust Records in Europe, UK and North America, Wicked Smile in Australia on Feb. 6 - CD, LP
WICKED SMILE is an Australian heavy metal band, and this is their second album. It sounds just as good as any other heavy metal album that I have got lately, so it's in other words really good stuff and absolutely worth a try. Lots of strong songs and good musicians etc. So if you're a fan of legends like DIO, JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN, SAVATAGE, DOKKEN, ICON and SKID ROW, then you should really check out this high quality product. It's a very good mix between up-tempo, mid-tempo and slower tracks. And as far as I can hear, there's no weak moments here.

Pat Todd & The RANKOUTSIDERS: After The Dolls

Heavy Medication Records - 10" EP, Digital EP
With this little EP, L.A. rockers Pat Todd & The RANKOUTSIDERS pay tribute to former NEW YORK DOLLS members Johnny Thunders (dead in 1991) and David Johansen (dead last year), by covering some of their solo songs. This is something that band leader Pat Todd have been wanting to do for 20 years, and now he finally got the time to do it.
I can't say that I have heard the original versions of these 6 songs, but these recordings sounds very good anyway, so this is something that's worth checking out if you like good old rock. And there's actually not that much else to say about this.

KILL CITY: I'll Just Wait

Kill City - Digital Single
It's not often that I get something with a band from Ecuador, but that's where this melodic heavy metal band comes from. They has since 2020 released 3 full-length albums and some singles.
This song sounds very catchy and melodic, and it has mainly an 80s sound. Not bad at all, so you should check it out if that sounds like something that you would like. But what else I should write is a big mystery..

HIGHWAY is a French hard rock band, and this song is taken from the upcoming 6th album, "Last Call For Rock'n'Roll" (release date unknown). It's a catchy and melodic little thing that can easily make you feel good in a sick world. It definitely has something that makes it good, so I can really recomend you to give it a listen.
Short, but I really don't know what else I should say.
